Cosmetology (3 YEAR)

The Cosmetology program is designed to prepare students to qualify for licensing examinations. Cosmetology students receive training in the care and beautification of hair, skin, and nails. The course of study includes scalp treatment, hair shaping, hair styling, setting, waving, tinting and coloring, shampooing, and rinsing. Care of skin and nails includes manicuring and pedicuring, massaging, facials, applying makeup, and hair removal. Also included in the course of study is salon planning and management. A license in cosmetology will enable the student to be a salon owner or work for manufactures of products and various other jobs.


Culinary Arts (3 YEAR)

The course in Culinary Arts offers training in all aspects of food preparation and service. The Program includes the principles of food preparation, recipe adjustment, procedures for ordering supplies and thus controlling usage, cost estimation, menu planning, banquet set-up, preparation and service, basic nutrition, and garnishing techniques.


Electricity (2 YEAR)

The Electricity program is designed to provide training in residen­tial and industrial electricity. Students demonstrate skills required in interpreting blueprints and specifications, installing boxes and fixtures, applying electrical concepts and laws to circuits and equipment, and applying the National Electrical Code to practical problems in electric­ity. Students also learn basic electrical circuit maintainance and repair skills, demonstrate the ability to use electrical meters to check circuit values, and make the basic electrical calculations. The graduate is prepared for entry level employment in the areas of installation, prepa­ration, maintainance and repair of residential and industrial electrical systems that support lights, security and entertainment. Students can also continue training on the post-secondaty level.


Welding Technology (2 YEAR)

This course involves the study of the weldability and physical proper­ties of metals, and the testing of welded joints. Laboratory experi­ences are provided which bring the student in contact with the latest developments in welding techniques. The student will develop skills in shielded metal arc welding, also the gas shielded arc process T-I-G and M-I-G, oxyacetylene welding, as well as heating, cutting and brazing ferrous and non-ferrous metals.


Nail Technology (2 YEAR)

Students completing this course will be able to list the abilities of a good manicurist, identify nail shapes, demonstrate proper sanitary
procedures, safety precautions, and advanced nail and massage
techniques used when giving maniqure and pedicures. The program
prepares students for the state license for nail technology.


Auto Collision Repair (2 YEAR)

*Want to repair or paint cars that are damaged or worn
Automotive Body Repair involves the student in classroom and lab experiences.
Prior to entering the lab, classroom instruction is given in the saftey/use of tools
and equipment. An Automotive Body Repair student will learn to repair and replace
various parts of the automobile which are damaged and worn. The repair and
replacement involves metal repair, painting, refinishing, plastics, frame
straightening, and installation of glass. This course will also instruct the student in
damage appraisal which requires the use of rates, charts and manuals. Excellent job
opportunities exist for the graduate in dealerships and general collision repair shops.
The Automotive Body Repair graduate can expect entry level positions and
advancement in the Automotive Body Repair industry.


Automotive Technology (2 YEAR)

Students in the Automotive Technology program learn the many aspects of repair
of the automobile and the specialized tools required to do the job. There is classroom
work, along with laboratory experiences which teach the student the fundamentals
of an engine and auto electronics. The school has mock-ups and school-owned
vehicles for the student to practice on prior to actual repair work on customer vehicles.
Brake work, electrical systems, alignment , and computerized engine analysis are
covered to aid the student in gaining a diversified education.


Barbering/Master Hair Care Specialist (3 YEAR)

Many career oppotunities exist in the field of Master Hair Care Specialist for the
well trained student. Students will perform techniques and arts, such as hair cutting,
shaving, massaging, facial treatments, and the trimming and styling of facial hair.
On completion of the 1500 hour course, a student will be eligible for the state
licensing examination. The course allows for the opportunity to provide experience
in day to day shop operations, perfect communication skills and offers an in-depth
view of the industry.


Building Construction Technology (2 YEAR)

*Are willing to apply math skills to solve problems
The building construction course prepares the student to work in the field of
carpentry or general wood working. The student learns to costruct and repair
structures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using hand and power tools. Blue
prints, sketches, and building plans are taught as an integral part of the curriculum,
along with basic math and types of building materials. The student will learn
the basic construction of a house through the actual building of a house on campus.
This construction includes the framing of walls, ceilings, doors, windows and roofs.
The student will also learn interior and exterior finish work which includes
sheetrock, doors, trim, siding, roofing, and painting. Jobs for carpenters will contin-
ue to be in demand in both residential and comercial areas.


Computer Repair & Networking (2 YEAR)

*Want to use state-ot-the-art computer technology
*Like working in an office setting
*Enjoy troubleshooting
This is a two year course offering experience in networking, wiring, computer repair
and internet design for students who have a strong desire to learn about the structure
of networking and wiring for WAN and LAN. Computer technology is required
along with experience in the use of an internet browser. Students qualify for Comp TIA
Cetification or Cisco Certification if they score 80% or better on course work.

Esthetician 2 Year

Esthetics students receive training in the care and beautification of skin. The course of study includes facials, applying makeup, skin disease and disor­ders, and various treatments. Also included in the course of study is salon planning and management. A license in Esthetics will enable the students to be a salon owner, make-up artist or work for a manufacturer of products and various other jobs.
Agricultural and Mechanic Technology (2 Year)

Golf Course Technology includes organized subject matter and practi­cal experiences concerned with the culture of plants used principally for ornamental or esthetic purposes. Instruction emphasizes understanding the importance of establishing, maintaining, and managing ornamental horti­culture enterprises. Typical learning activities include growing, establishing and maintaining nursery plants, greenhouse crops, and turn-grass design landscape, preparing floral designs, sell flowers and ornamental plants, and participate in FFA activities.


Graphics Communications (2 Year)

Graphic Communication includes graphics, printing, reprographic
technology and photography. The course is designed to train students to enter the print graphics industry, which is one of the nation’s most important and fastest growing fields. The students receive instruction in layout composition and process photography. Students become familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Desktop Publishing, and Web Design.

Project Lead the Way (CAD) (2 Year)

*Are a detailed and organized person
This course is computer based and enables the student to perform entry-level tasks under the supervision of an engineer. The student converts sketches into working-drawings required for production using various drawing tools and drafting. Students in this course should have neat work habits, patience, mechanical aptitude, and be able to visualize spatial relations. Graduates of this program may enter the job market or pursue an engineering degree at a college or university. The graduates of this program have been in demand by public and private agencies over the past several years. There are many high paying opportunities in this field.


Fiberglass Fabrication
and Manufacturing (2 Year)

This is a two year program which will give students a working knowledge of the fabrication industry as it relates to fiberglass repairs and construction techniques. Students will learn to make minor repairs to cars, boats, and surf related items. They will safely shape and laminate products using resins and fiberglass cloth. Later they will move to more detailed repairs where they will actually form items such as building surf boards. Ultimately they will build a surf board from scratch which will include painting and pigmenta­tion of the board. Parts of this course will be available to the students in Auto Collision.

Health Science Technology (2 Year)

*Have a desire to care for people Heath Science Technology provides students with knowledge and explora­tion of therapeutic, diagnostic, or informatic health careers. The course is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment, or college for those students planning to pursue a degree in any medical profession. Each student will be placed in a variety of situations in the community to interact with medical professionals in health related occupations. The graduate will be able to enter a variety of occupations in the health fields. Students are taught functions of the body, general signs and physiology, clinical practice and other experiences in the medical careers environment. Students can also take courses such as Office Procedures, Accounting, and Coding and achieve an additional certificate.


Masonry Technology (Elective)

The masonry program is designed to prepare students to perform entry-level masonry tasks under the supervision of an experienced mason. Masonry students receive instruction in designing, constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, and floors. Included in the course of study is instruction in spacing, layout, and alignment of brick and blocks.


Law Enforcement and Public Safety

2 Year

Students completing this course will have knowledge of the criminal justice system and homeland security, history and development. They will be able to discuss major issues currently facing police and public services. Students will be able to describe the dual court system in this country and understand the differences between the adult and juvenile justice systems, the fire/EMS system, and its relationship to homeland security. The local community will be used to gain hands-on experience.

Early childhood Education is designed to provide students with hands-on op­portunities to actively explore and observe the world of preschool children. This course provides an in-depth study of career paths, developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum development, safe and healthy learning environments, collaborative relationships, and professional employment skills. Integration of the Family and Consumer Sciences students organiza­tion, Family Careers, and Community Leaders of America, greatly enhances this curriculum.
